The Federation:
Formerly known as the “Earth Federation Alliance.”
the Federation is the current galactic giant, controlling 89% of the human controlled sectors.
The Federation rules safely from their home system; Sol. Sol is a system permanently on lockdown,
Allowing entry only to the highest ranking members of the Federation, this limits the amount of traffic in the system and also decreases the chances of assassinations.
Their military is comprised only of elites, the finest pilots and soldiers one could find.
With the finances to spare the Federation does not hesitate to produce the highest grade of equipment for their fighters.
Federation soldiers are unmatched in all form of combat and never question their leader’s orders.
Although mostly a politic focused group, they are a terrifying enemy to anyone foolish enough to declare war against them or their allies. They rule above all, in every way: whether it’d be finances, territories, politics or even military might.
-
The Alliance:
Formerly a collective of the Federation, The Alliance has now become it’s own faction, setting out to unify the Human race under its mantle. The Alliance is not a militarily might by any means, much more of a docile political party. They very rarely take actions which leads to bloodshed.
The Alliance; is just as the name would imply an alliance between many former factions, who disbanded to unite under a single banner and a single goal.
Although The Alliance does not engage in conquests they do still hold about 3% of the human controlled sectors of the galaxy, most of which were earned through legitimate political trades.
The Alliance also controls the information markets, making them them a great source of power, without needing any real firepower.
-
The Imperium:
“To control, one must rule. To rule, one must conquer.
To conquer, one must take.”
The Imperium is a ruthless militarily conqueror. Tales of their cruelty spreads from the far reaches of the Milky Way. Little is known about their true agendas, apart from the obvious want of galactic domination.
Although they are conquerors, The Imperium still have political prowess in the galactic council. The fear they impose on others is no doubt the biggest reason why.
The Imperium despise The Federation and their members, the same. Conflicts between the two giants rages on at every opportunity, only increasing the hate between them and fueling the fires further.
The Imperium currently holds 8% of the human controlled sectors, of the Milky Way. Although the numbers may not seem very impressive at first glance, no one should ever underestimate them, for their expansion is only just beginning.
-
The Ravens:
Once knows as “The Onyx Consortium.” The Ravens are a large military focused mercenary group. With rank structures not dissimilar to The Federation, they can easily fool their enemies into believing they are one and the same.
Although they have no direct hold on any sector, The Ravens are masters of trickery and often make their homes in systems controlled by the major factions. This makes it impossible for their enemies to track and hunt them down.
Most members of The Ravens are veteran soldiers looking for quick and easy money or deserters who abandoned their posts while fighting in civil conflicts. The Ravens may not be the most loyal, but they have valuable knowledge of combat and are all adept strategists.
And although The Ravens have no direct business in politics, to exclude their influence on the galactic council would be a fool’s choice.
-
The Bronze Stingers:
“Bees have black stingers and without them they pass, we have bronze stingers and you with them, pass.”
The Bronze Stingers are a small bandit-like mercenary group. With unorganized rank structures. Some say they were once known as “The Bronze Consortium” a copycat group mimicking the actions taken by “The Onyx Consortium” against the Federation.
The Bronze Stingers have no control on any sectors, for their ranks are much too small to be an imposing threat to any major factions… but it is known that they prey on civilian worlds to pillage resources and to them, they are terrifying.
Most members of The Bronze Stingers are lawless buffoons looking for easy resources, little of them actually know how to handle themselves in a real fight, which is why they tend to ignore military targets outright. They can prove no problems in a one on one fight, but they rarely play by the rules of honor.
Do not exclude the Bronze Stingers when considering able fighting forces, because a beehive is an imposing threat even if a singular bee is not.
